Description

We offer organic lovage leaf hydrolate for foods, which originates from a plant with the botanical name Levisticum Officinale. The hydrolate is offered under the name Lovage Leaf Organic Hydrolat. The plantations grow in Bulgaria under an organic cultivation regime. The organic regime excludes foreign substances from the starting material, which is why the composition includes only an aqueous phase and the volatile compounds of the leaves, while preservatives and colorants are completely absent. The Apiaceae family unites herbaceous species in which volatile substances are concentrated in the aerial organs. The raw material comes from the leaves of the plant. The leaf origin determines the light yellow-green tone, which the liquid retains up to its final form. The color ranges between light yellow and green. Steam distillation shapes a clean aromatic profile, as only volatile components of the leaves and water enter the result, while other substances remain aside. The scent combines fresh and green directions with an herbal shade that stands behind them and remains in the background of the overall profile. The strength of the aroma remains mild. The mild aromatic strength derives from the limited volatile fraction that the aqueous base retains during the extraction of the leaf mass. Alongside the scent, the distillate is a clear and light liquid. The aroma of the fresh leaves is mainly due to phthalides, including ligustilide and butylphthalide, and this is where the green side of the profile comes from. The basal leaves are divided into three segments, and their leaflets have a broad triangular shape and a pointed tip. Lovage stands behind the light tone and the mild, fresh, green scent with an herbal shade.
